The hay cushion is designed for feeding hay on the ground, whilst reducing waste, slowing down eating and improving hygiene.
Feeding from the ground provides a natural position for horses' feeding, which is believed to be better for their muscles, since this is what they're designed for. However, feeding from the floor can result in hay being stomped on, thrown around into the bed, mixed with dung and wasted.
Equally, horses can get through their hay too quickly, making ad-lib feeding (the ideal and most natural option for most horses) problematic.
Now there is a perfect solution to these problems, that enables you to feed the horse hay or haylage from the ground in a more natural way!
The hay cushion can be used in the stable or in the field. It is made from strong 600 Denier fabric with a front net window to allow hay to be eaten, but restricting the amount of intake.
A velcro closure flap on back allows for easy filling.
