The head has a sponge centre, with brush bristles surrounding it, so that you can scrub.

To use, simply unscrew the handle, fill with your chosen shampoo, and refit the handle to the head of the shampoo brush. Wet your horse and squeeze the handle of the shampoo brush to apply the shampoo. Use a circular motion for best scrubbing action, whilst taking care not to overdo it to the point that your horse finds uncomfortable!
Used correctly, your horse should really enjoy the pampering and you should find washing your horse is less tiring on your shoulders.
