Jointed Baucher Hanging Cheek Snaffle Bit

The Jointed Baucher Bit (also known as a hanging cheek bit), is a mild snaffle bit with a single joint for horses that prefer a more direct rein aid. 

For some time, baucher bits were incorrectly believed to apply poll pressure, but research has evidenced that the opposite is true - because the bit slides up the mouth and rotates when contact is taken up, it provides a "poll relief" effect, which removes poll pressure rather than apply it.
